Beauty beat: foundation stick

Foundation

I have a new beauty obsession – Bobbi Brown’s foundation stick. I will be the first to admit that I do not have good skin. I have never had good skin, but the whole pregnancy thing did not improve this. I still have to deal with daily blemishes and scarring, the kind of thing I had really been hoping would have improved once I left high school. Sadly, it was not to be.

When it comes to make up, I hate foundation. I always feel ridiculous wearing it and gross, like nothing should touch my face lest it smears. It is not really an option for me. So I use concealer, but due to the amount of scarring, usually over a large portion of my face. So not exactly ideal either. Then I found this foundation stick. It’s like it was made exactly for someone with my needs. It offers full coverage in an easy to apply stick, so I only use it for spot treatment. Perfect!

The other thing I really like about the line is the amount of shades available. I used to use a great concealer by Clinique that was pretty much exactly my skin shade. I loved it. Then, they just discontinued it one day. I have pretty pale skin and I always go for the lightest shade available. When they got rid of my colour, I had to go to darker shades that just sat on my face in orange blotches. Definitely not the look I was going for. But Bobbi Brown has a full range of shades, including several very pale shades. My usual trick of going for the the lightest shade might not actually work. “Alabaster” works for me in the winter, but once I get a bit of colour it’s actually too pale. I find this pretty exciting. So, if you are pasty pale with bad skin, totally recommend this product. Even if you are not (and I hope for your sake that you aren’t), it is still a great product.

Word of the day:

Tantrum: a violent demonstration of rage or frustration; a sudden burst of ill temper.
